Crisis Prevention Institute: Verbal De-Escalation Part 1 & 2

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training is an evidence-based crisis de-escalation model. CPI is a mandatory training for all Bloom foster parents. CPI training incorporates trauma-informed and person-centered approaches and trains individuals to respond to crisis situations with a focus on prevention using verbal de-escalation skills and strategies. We look forward to sharing these helpful skills with our Bloom foster parents! 

CPI will now be provided using a hybrid training model consisting of three shorter sections rather than one 8-hour day. The three required sections include the following: 

• Verbal De-Escalation Part 1, 2.5 Hours, Virtual
• Verbal De-Escalation Part 2, 2.5 Hours, Virtual
• Disengagement Skills & Testing, 2 Hours, In-Person

The session you are registering for includes Verbal De-Escalation Parts 1 and 2. After this session, you will complete the two-hour Disengagement Skills and Testing in person at a later date.
